1. Scope

DendroGeo combines georeferenced tree measurements, allometric biomass/carbon estimates, park-scale spatial and land-cover analysis and public scientific outputs. The service is provided as is for research and education.

2. Accounts

A valid email address or supported Google account is required for an account. Keep credentials and sessions secure; you are responsible for submissions made through your account. Roles and review permissions follow the administrative authorization model. Inactive accounts cannot submit new measurements.

3. Acceptable use

Do not intentionally falsify measurements, alter another person’s records or measurement-point lists without authority, misuse park names or merging, upload unlawful or unrelated images, automate false submissions, or attempt unauthorized access to private accounts or unpublished data. Administrators may reject or remove improper records and deactivate accounts. Review actions have an audit trail.

4. Licensing and attribution

Software code, tests and scripts are MIT-licensed. Rights-holder-authorized DendroGeo datasets and original editorial content generally use CC BY-NC 4.0; commercial reuse of that material requires separate permission. Each publication identifies its own scope, sources, licence and any DOI. Third-party maps, imagery and databases retain their own terms. The name and logo are not licensed by the software notice. The v3.0.1 software DOI is 10.5281/zenodo.22948773; it is not a dataset DOI. Attribute software to Şirin, N. and Şirin, S. (2026), DendroGeo: Küresel Ağaç Envanteri ve Karbon Veri Sistemi, v3.0.1. 5. Scientific limitations

Biomass and carbon values are model estimates, not direct measurements. The documented system uses the Chave et al. allometry, species-specific wood density or group defaults, and stated biomass/carbon assumptions. Measurement errors, species identification and model applicability affect outputs. Results must not be used alone as certification for carbon credits, official reporting, taxation, incentives or legal claims. Continuous or error-free availability and fitness for a particular purpose are not guaranteed. Liability remains subject to applicable law.

6. External services

Supabase, Google, Cloudflare Turnstile, OpenStreetMap/Nominatim/Overpass, Esri, Microsoft Planetary Computer and AWS-hosted datasets have separate terms and privacy policies. ESA WorldCover, IO LULC and OpenStreetMap retain their respective rights and attribution requirements.

7. Intellectual property

Interface, documentation, code and other material are governed by their applicable licences. Photograph rights remain with their holders; uploading for publication requires the necessary permission.

8. Changes and termination

The terms may be updated on the policy pages. You may request account closure and applicable data deletion through the privacy contact. Turkish law applies to disputes under the source terms. This English companion does not change the published Turkish conditions or the software’s processing rules.
